Protection From UV Rays If you can see across your room, you are probably peering through UV rays. The sunlight that causes tanning and burning is not the visible light. It is Ultraviolet (UV) light which, because it is invisible, means that what you see is not what you get. You can't see UV rays because they radiate beyond the colorful spectrum of light our eyes can actually see. Beyond the colors of the rainbow. But they are everywhere. They are outside on sunny days, cloudy days, summer days, winter days – in Honolulu, in Tokyo, in London, in Sydney. But they are also bouncing off your computer monitor, your fluorescent light, your halogen lamp, your TV. They are in your home, your office, brightly lit sports arenas and gyms, tanning parlors, medical devices, some spa equipment… In other words, UV rays are all over the place. |
